Dear New CSHM Cardinal Football Players and Parents,

The current school year will be rapidly coming to a close, and soon you will be graduating from grammar school. You have recently made a very important decision in your life. You have chosen to continue and foster your educational growth by enrolling at Cantwell Sacred Heart of Mary High School. It will prove to be a very challenging decision, but one that is bountiful in its experiences and rewards. You and your parents are to be commended for your choice. Although you are here for an education first and Academics are the number one priority, you will find out early, CSHM High School is rich in football tradition. The 2007 Varsity campaign resulted in a successful campaign and a 7-4 record with many all-time school records broken such as: Most points scored in a season (358 points), Most points scored in a game 65 points vs. Murphy, Most touchdowns in a season 39 TD’s. The Junior Varsity Program finished 9-1 undefeated in league, with their third league Championship in three years. The Frosh-Soph finished with a very impressive 9-1 record against the toughest competition in Southern California including a 42-14 win over Loyola and a 40-0 win over Bishop Amat. While the efforts were many, and the dedication was driven by team concepts - a true indication of the commitment of our young student - athletes, there is always room for improvement in our quest striving for excellence. Our Program has been extremely successful over the past five years so much so that CSHM has moved up twice in three divisions to compete in the Camino Real League. The 2008 campaign will be an exciting challenge brought about by the focus and determination of young men with similar aspirations to the ones that you will exhibit as you start your career at CSHM High School.

The 2008 season should provide every bit as much competition and excitement as previous ones. It will be extra special for you and your parents, because it will mark the first time that you will compete as an athlete for CSHM High School. A copy of the 2008 CSHM High School Football schedule has been included for you to recognize the challenge ahead. CSHM High School will play a very challenging schedule comprised of some of the best football playing schools in the State of California.
